Receiver Michael Thomas and running back Mark Ingram returned to New Orleans Saints practice on a limited basis Friday, increasing their chances of playing Sunday in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers.
Both officially are listed as questionable, though, making them somewhat risky fantasy options since the Saints don't kick off until Sunday's late-afternoon session of games.
Ingram, who is listed with toe and knee injuries, practiced twice this week on a limited basis, and he played through the toe injury last week. So it seems likely he will be able to play. But the unspecified knee issue was new on the injury report this week. If Ingram can't play, veteran Tim Hightower is an obvious replacement who has played well in an every-down role when needed for the Saints over the past two years.
Thomas' practice participation also gives him a good chance of playing Sunday. But if he can't, it could increase opportunities for receivers Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, Brandon Coleman and tight end Coby Fleener. Those looking for an emergency backup option off the waiver wire might want to consider Fleener as a flex play or Coleman as a receiver if they don't already have better options on the bench.cheap mlb jerseys
Left tackle Terron Armstead (knee/quad) also is listed as questionable after returning to practice on a limited basis Friday. He has been in and out of the lineup throughout the season and didn't play last week. So his status is especially tough to predict -- but his increased participation this week is a good sign going forward.
Center Max Unger (foot) and linebacker Craig Robertson (shoulder) also are listed as questionable. But neither of them practiced Friday -- leaving their statuses even more in doubt.
Both would be missed badly. Robertson is the Saints' middle linebacker, signal caller and leading tackler this year. If he can't play, second-year pro Stephone Anthony -- who held that same role last year before being demoted to a minor role this season -- is a possible replacement option.cheap NFL jerseys,
Unger arguably has been the Saints' best lineman this season. If he can't play, veteran backups Tim Lelito and Senio Kelemete both have experience playing center. Kelemete is listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week with a hip injury.
Running back Daniel Lasco is listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week with a hamstring injury. Safety Shiloh Keo is listed as questionable after missing practice Friday with a hamstring injury.
